Our Mission
Our mission is to publish imaginative, captivating and consequential works of nonfiction and fiction by authors from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to create a more inclusive, equitable, free and truly democratic future. Publishing fresh and unique voices on issues of import enriches and changes the trajectories of our conversations. Illuminating historically hidden, untold and compelling stories will elevate and amplify underrepresented and oppressed voices from around the world.
We celebrate storytelling and seek to launch and build literary careers by providing a safe and nurturing place where writers can discover and articulate their uniquely gorgeous stories.
We are passionate about elegance, innovation, tradition and excellence and strive to incorporate the perfect blend in our publishing model. The beauty of an independent press is our ability to devote more time and attention to our authors as we collaborate in creating masterpieces of every book. Our model is to partner with our authors throughout the publishing process, seeking their input on important matters, while building trusted relationships with them. For us, the construction of each book is collabortive art, from cover to cover.
Our more than twenty years’ experience in digital publishing, contemporary design, communications and cross-media advertising are brought to bear in publishing and marketing gorgeous books. We publish books, texts, and periodicals in print and e-book formats and employ the widest possible distribution channels to increase sales.

The Birth of Gorgeous Stories Press
For those whose voices have been overlooked or suppressed, for those who have experienced injustice or denial of justice, for those who aspire to see structural changes, for those thought leaders formulating plans for a better future, for those activists demanding justice, we aim to amplify your voices and stories to facilitate social and economic change, to usher in a more just and equitable world, and to help preserve our fragile democracy. This is a moment in history for deep contemplation, reimagination, creative thought and writing with sufficient heft, intellectual rigor, and a wide and inclusive lense to alter our current course. We aim to inspire writers with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to tap into the extraordinary power of words and the language of the heart to change our world--illuminating the dark and the light. Rudine Sims Bishop eloquently described the richness and power of stories by and about authors from underrepresented communities to open windows and doors for us all.
